Surfing Season
Morocco is a year-round surfing destination, offering diverse and consistent waves along its extensive coastline. While the prime season for big, powerful swells runs from September to April, with peak conditions from December to March, summer months (May to August) bring smaller, manageable waves ideal for beginners. Regardless of the time of year, Morocco’s surf spots, including famed locations like Taghazout, Tamraght and Imsouane, ensure there’s always a wave for everyone.
• Beginners: Surfing in Morocco is accessible year-round, thanks to a variety of mellow beach breaks ideal for learning. From May to August, conditions are especially suited to those just starting out.
• Intermediate Surfers: For intermediate surfers looking to progress and enjoy steady green waves, September through November and March to May offer reliable swells without being overwhelming.
• Advanced Surfers: Experienced surfers seeking powerful waves and challenging point breaks should plan their trips from December to March when Morocco’s coastline sees its biggest and best swells.
